Art, Culture, & Philosophy

In the foundational entrance of R69 is Aspis, a contemporary art space, curatorial program, gallery and art advisory in Tel Aviv.

The gallery’s program includes exhibitions and projects, which most recently showcased EYE 02 by Los Angeles-based artist Adam Rabinowitz. The program includes a conversation series by artists and philosophers, as well as leading international art collectors like Adam Lindemann, Daniella Luxembourg, among others.

The curator of Aspis is Yael Bergstein, the former editor-in-chief of Israel’s major art magazine Studio Art Magazine. She collaborates closely with artists and publishes texts, visual projects, and interviews by leading international and Israeli artists, theoreticians, and curators. Special issues have included Flash, After Nature, and Rauschenberg in Israel, a catalogue published in collaboration with the Israel Museum, among others. Bergstein is also the editor of two artist books – Avner Ben-Gal published by Hatje Cantz and BioGenetics published by the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
